( ;D --> JD Twitch and JG Wilkes will once again be testing the outer limits of the DJ mix by taking in people as varied as Coil, Nurse With Wound, Lee Hazlewood, Duke Ellington and forgotten folkie Karen Dalton. In fact, the closest thing to actual "dance music" is a track from Arthur Russell and ambient music from Cluster and Eno, Moebius and Roedelius. Then again, that's exactly the sort of thing that Optimo has been doing each Sunday at their celebrated Sub Club night.)

'Thin Ice' breaks through with it's throbbing bass line and sees Daniel Agust return for the first time since the 4AD years with his triumphant vocal chorus 'I Feel Like Dancing!' that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Their northern souls shine with 'Hateful', a submerged sounding roller coaster that brings forth their remarkable tact for balancing unnerving frequencies with the bliss of modern Pop songwriting. Other highlights include their cover of the classic Jimi Tenor tune 'Take Me Baby' for which they went the extra mile by enlisting Tenor to sing his own song; and the closes with the single, 'Add This Song', one of the album's true shining moments - the emotional persuasiveness of Daniel Agust's voice will caress anyone through this blissful Electro-fied opus!)

( ;D --> ‘Alle Lust will Ewigkeit’ leaves the stongest blow for the very end. ‘Murderer’ mesmerises us with disturbing, yet fascinating, samples. This was to be expected, as the albums title (‘All joy wants eternity’) clearly brings to mind the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. And it finally becomes cleat – Nachtmahr is not an attempt to bring back some shattered memories. It’s a particular state of mind, a warrior’s spirit, a apotheosis of sin, lust and rumbling beats.)
