( ;D --> This is the second album from the strange and twisted world inhabited by Dasha Rush and a bunch of broken sounding machines. While her first album was cast from a more conventional template, “I Run Iron I Run Ironic” comes from a weirder and more interesting place. Like Pole or Pete Namlook if they had a dose of wry feminine humour, Dasha weaves a thread of inky blackness through the many layers of her sonic collage.)

Sopor Aeternus (& the Ensemble of Shadows )

www.soporaeternus.de
( ;D --> Sopor Aeternus (Latin: "Eternal Sleep") is a darkwave musical project (probably the deepest of dark bands) based in Frankfurt founded in 1989 by Anna-Varney Cantodea. Since the project's beginnings, Anna-Varney's music has gained notoriety for being extremely personalized, melancholic and pessimistic, drawing on a number of different musical and visual styles to be incorporated into her unique and unusual work. Despite years of media attention in Europe, not much is known about Cantodea and her personal life. All known information has been attained from interviews and publications in print. What is established is that Anna-Varney Cantodea is a pre-operative transwoman, and has decided to remain as such, citing "spiritual conflict" if gender reassignment surgery is performed. Sopor Aeternus also credits the Ensemble of Shadows for her inspirations. These are spirits, beings who she says she receives the musical compositions from. She also works through depression with the aid of her music, as can be heard on the demos, produced at a time when she was gravely ill and at risk of losing her eyesight. She describes her subsequent works as "introverted exhibitionism." They are also expressions of extreme, intense pain.

Stewart began his Claro Intelecto project in 2003 on Manchesters IDM label, AI, with a Peace of Mind EP. He quickly followed the release with the acclaimed Neurofibro (named after his genetic disease). Metanarrative is more melodic than the preceding EPs, centered around deep bass groans and minimal grinds building up the postmodernist grand narrative. Stewart infuses the Detroit influenced UK beats with his IDM and electro background, creating an album that spans the sub-genres from dub techno to tech-house.)

Dominik Eulberg

( ;D --> Heavily influenced by the sound of Sven Vath's radio show during the '90s, Germany's Dominik Eulberg began performing and producing music in front of small audiences in 1995. His early releases on the Sniper imprint caught the attention of such other labels as Matthias Schaffhäuser's Ware and Germany's Raum...Musik. After a series of singles on Traum Schallplatten and Trapez, Eulberg released his first full-length, Flora und Fauna in 2004. The album was met with much acclaim from critics, dancefloors, and DJs alike and resulted in a series of DJ-friendly remixes in 2005. He continues to record almost exclusively for Traum Schallplatten and in the past few years has become an in-demand remixer known for his epic compositional sensibilities and dramatic, sweeping arrangements. He recently came full-circle creatively by recording an EP for Sven Vath's Cocoon label in summer of 2006.)

www.mylifewiththethrillkillkult.com
( ;D --> My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult specialized in mixing tales of sex, Satan, and gore with a rock/dance beat. Originally formed in 1987 by Buzz McCoy and Groovie Mann, the duo sought to create a worthy musical accompaniment that could be used as a soundtrack to trashy B-movies. The duo's initial project was to make a movie (in the style of Russ Meyer and John Waters) to be named "My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult." The movie never got off the ground, but McCoy and Mann used the aborted movie's title for the name of their just-formed group, as their over-the-top stage show was best described as "sensory overload" (featuring a revolving door of weird characters, props, and intense visuals.
In addition to their own releases, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult has contributed tracks to several movie soundtracks, including Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls, Greg Araki's Nowhere, and the hit flick The Crow (in the latter of which the group made a cameo appearance); and over the years, has toured with such renowned (and similarly styled) bands as Siouxie and the Banshees, Lords of Acid, EMF, and Marilyn Manson.)

It was because of his music that Len teamed up with several of the early pioneers of electronic music. When ANNE CLARK heard Len’s remix for ‘Sleeper in Metropolis’, Implant became the electronic live band of ANNE CLARK for 5 years, resulting in guest contributions of Anne on 2 albums (‘Audio Blender’ and ‘Self Inflicted’). While both artists have composed and released electronic music for over a decade, each followed a different path.
